We trade with farmers.
We own the data.
We build the future.

DNC gives smallholder farmers across Zambia fair prices and immediate cash for their maize. Every purchase builds a financial identity. Over time, that data becomes a payments platform, credit system, and digital bank serving the 4M+ Zambian farmers formal finance has never reached.

The model

Supply first. Data second.
Finance third.

Whoever controls supply at source controls the financial layer. We start at the maize. Everything else follows.

01
Trade

Buy maize directly from farmers

Our agents operate at collection depots across Eastern Province. We cut out middlemen entirely, paying competitive market prices on the spot. Farmers receive cash immediately at point of sale.

02
Data

Every transaction becomes proprietary data

Volume, yield, timing, location, repayment history. Each purchase builds a unique farmer profile inside Panjiia. This data compounds every season and becomes impossible to replicate.

03
Finance

Data makes this market financeable

We loan farmers inputs. They repay with harvest. We store it and sell to offtakers. The credit cycle closes. No bank has this data. No bank can serve this market without it.

04
Platform

Financial services emerge from the system

Insurance, input financing, savings, and a marketplace for farmers to buy and sell. Built on Panjiia data from day one, not bolted on as an afterthought.

This is already working

Two pilot cycles. Zero defaults. 38% ROI.

Two completed pilot cycles with a 38% return and zero defaults. Year 1 targets 44% gross margin. By Year 3, we project K4M in revenue across 5,250 bags. The unit economics hold and scale with volume.

Panjiia Platform

The financial identity
Zambia's farmers
never had.

Panjiia is DNC's proprietary data platform. It turns agricultural behaviour into a bankable financial profile — and over time into a full-stack financial services ecosystem for rural Zambia. Banks cannot serve this market without this data.

Data compounds every season. The longer we operate, the harder this is to replicate.

Data Capture

Agents record every maize purchase, farmer profile, and transaction using the Panjiia app. Offline-capable for zero-connectivity rural areas. Every season builds a richer financial picture.

Phase 1

Credit and Payments

Farmers send and receive payments through Panjiia. DNC loans inputs and cash, repaid with harvest. Loan tracking, agent dashboards, and the first agricultural credit profiles in Zambia.

Phase 2+

Full Fintech Platform

Panjiia becomes a rural bank: savings, insurance, mobile money, and a community marketplace for farmers to buy inputs and sell crops. Farmer e-learning and a credit history that follows them for life.

Theory of Change

1

Farmer onboarding

Agents register smallholders, collect farm data, and assign a unique Panjiia profile. Invisible farmers become visible.

2

Guaranteed market

DNC buys their maize and connects supply to FRA and private offtakers. No more middlemen taking 60% of the value.

3

Data accumulation

Each season builds a richer financial profile. Transaction records, yield data, repayment history. A growing asset.

4

Credit unlocked

Farmers borrow inputs from DNC, repay with harvest. That cycle creates the credit history no bank in Zambia has for this market.

5

Income and scale

40-70% income uplift per household. Data strengthens. More farmers join. The flywheel turns.

The team

Built by Zambians,
for Zambia.

Lean, mission-driven, and deeply embedded in the communities we serve. Every role has context that no outside hire can replicate.
