Our Model
Daka Ntembe Consortium (DNC) is developing a model that blends commercial agriculture, financial inclusion, and community ownership into one connected ecosystem. It is a for profit structure with a clear social mission to help farmers earn more, build resilient livelihoods, and create wealth that stays within rural Zambia.

Our model is being built step by step. It began with crop based finance and maize trading and is evolving into a scalable system that will link thousands of farmers, cooperatives, and processing hubs across the region.
Crop Based Finance and Trade
Our model began by addressing one of the biggest challenges for smallholder farmers, seasonal cash shortages. DNC provides direct financial support to farmers during the critical months when income is low but expenses are high. Instead of offering inputs, we provide cash that allows farmers to support their families, buy seeds, and stay productive.

We then purchase their harvests, such as maize, and sell to institutions like the Food Reserve Agency. This approach creates a self sustaining cycle that keeps farmers in production while generating profit that fuels expansion into new areas.
Agricultural Production and Hub Development
With early success in crop based finance, DNC is now preparing to establish its first large scale farm in Eastern Province. This farm will serve as both a commercial venture and a foundation for future Integrated Cooperative and Innovation Hubs. Each hub will include training spaces, storage, and shared mechanisation designed to help local farmers increase yields and improve efficiency.

These hubs will anchor our long term goal to modernise rural farming communities using solar power, data systems, and circular local economies built around shared prosperity.
Cooperative Framework
DNC’s long term vision is to build a connected ecosystem where farmers are both owners and active participants in a data driven agricultural network. Through structured cooperatives, farmers will hold equity in the value chain and gain access to shared infrastructure, finance, and training.

Technology will underpin this system, managing registration, payments, and data collection to ensure transparency and traceability from field to market. These digital tools will link farmers to local buyers and international partners, opening new trade opportunities for groundnuts, maize, and other high value crops.

Our Impact and Vision
Agriculture is more than an industry to us. It is the foundation of community, dignity, and opportunity. Every part of DNC’s model is built to create lasting change that uplifts farmers, strengthens families, and fuels national growth.

DNC’s long term vision is to build an agricultural system that delivers both profit and purpose. Our model is designed to raise farmer incomes, strengthen rural economies, and create measurable impact that aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

By reinvesting in communities, improving access to finance, and promoting sustainable farming practices, we aim to help farmers move from survival to growth. Each step forward brings us closer to a future where agriculture in Zambia is modern, data driven, and globally competitive while still rooted in fairness and shared prosperity.

Our goal is simple. To prove that building a successful business can also build a stronger and more equitable society for generations to come.
